This research aimed to study self-care behaviors for preventing kidney complications in diabetic patients and to study predictive factors self-care behaviors for preventing kidney complications.The study group comprised 175 diabetic patients attending a diabetic clinic at Nong Kae health promoting hospital. The research instrument was a survey questionnaire,was gained the reliability coefficient of 0.86 respectively.The statistics used in data analysis included percentage,arithmetic mean,standard deviation,and multiple regression analysis.The research findings were as follows:The respondents self-care behaviors for preventing kidney complications were found to be at a good level.The best predictors,arranged in the order of importance,including 4 variables:factors of perceived severity of kidney disorders,perceived benefits of performing self-care behaviors,perceived self-efficacy to performing self-care behaviors,and knowledge of chronic kidney disorders,able to predict self-care behaviors for preventing kidney complications by 45 percent of accuracy with the standard error estimation of 1.27.In conclusion,it is necessary to encourage diabetic patients to perceived self-care for preventing kidney complications appropriately, and to perform self-care behaviors correctly for preventing kidney complications.
